It All Started...

... With a dream and a baby bottle. Almost six years ago, Andrew and I began our trek down the windy road towards adoption and our very first fundraising vision was a baby bottle drive. We were living in Corvallis at the time and attending a church called North West Hills. Andrew and I served on the worship team and became very close with the worship pastor and his precious family. At one of our worship team meetings, Andrew and I shared with the team our passion to adopt a child from Africa and handed out some baby bottles to whomever wished to fill them with spare change and return them to us; it was our very first adoption fundraiser. Yesterday, our dear worship pastor, his wife and three lovely children (whom we hadn't seen in two years!) drove all the way up from Corvallis to hand deliver their baby bottle. How special it is to receive this bottle years after handing it out and right before flying across the world to meet our baby girl in Uganda!

- When Love Takes You In by Steven Curtis Chapman -

I know you've heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You've heard about a place called home
But there doesn't seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you're sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in
